Getting it Right from the Start

As you start your own small business, one question that may be lingering in your mind is how to handle the accounting side of things.  My opinion: it is best to think about your accounting practices now, and set up a system and routine so that you can 'get it right from the start'.

But do not allow this thought to worry you, you are not left to figure this out alone.  There are many tools and resources out there that can help you do just that.

Take for instance the CRA website (www.cra-arc.gc.ca).  They have developed a video series that helps you get it right from the start.  The videos speak to people in plain language about many tax topics such as what books and records should be kept, and what a CRA audit involves.  Check out the series located at: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/vdgllry/bsnss/srs-strtngbsnss-eng.html?vclp=bsnss/srs-strtngbsnss1-eng

Still confused?  Well that is where I can help.

Whether you are the most organized person in the world, or whether you throw all of your receipts in a shoe box and pray for the best, we can work out a system that will get you started on the right foot and be easy to maintain going forward.
